Phonetic alphabet based on childhood games.

Proposal for a new International standard for a phonetic alphabet based on childhood games.

Bulldog-Twister-Three this is Ludo-Scrabble-Conker-Seven-Two-Zero, what is your situation…

It’s far less military than the real one… but there are loads of letters missing…
I’m not sure where the idea came from, it was one of those early afternoon at work things…

Where multiple options are shown the first option is the preferred choice.

If you can think of any childhood games, either board games or well known playground games, for the missing letters let me know. I’m trying to think of things from the 70’s and early 80’s and am deliberately avoiding computer games as there are loads of them. The names of games are UK English and are picked to be as well known and iconic as possible.

  1. Boggle is quite a nice one. It seems to be annoyingly easy to find games beginning with B.H.S… I wonder is this was a 70’s conspiricy to coerce children into associating those letters with fun and games so that later in life they would go on frenzied sweater and counterpane shopping sprees…
